Co-Founder/Managing Director, Infrastructure Group LLC
Technology commercialization executive, strategic thinker and a
generalist in a world of specialists
Edwin has more than a decade of effectively selling in Asia and Europe, during which time he learned that every culture has its own strengths, weaknesses, and blind spots. He developed empathy during this international phase of his career, learning how to put himself in other people’s shoes and craft win/win deals. He is fluent in Korean and German. His international experience selling technologies led him to form Infrastructure Group LLC.
Edwin was born and raised in New York to Korean immigrant parents where, as a minority, Edwin learned to distinguish between communications intention vs. style. He has degrees from MIT and Stanford. In attending school in the United States and Korea, he learned not everyone thinks like an American. His motto is, “seek first to understand before attempting to be understood.” He has learned to lead through personal connection, treating each person as an individual, while being aware of the impact of group dynamics on individuals.
He is on the advisory board of several community college districts, with a special focus on teaching marketing and entrepreneurship and is part of Stanford Educational Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY since renamed Stanford Pre-Collegiate) and Stanford International Youth Program. He also is adjunct lecturer with the Stanford Continuing Studies Program.
